Aspirin, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine

The combination of aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine is used in over-the-counter (OTC) painkillers, usually specifically directed at headaches and/or migraines. This medication is most commonly used as an abortive treatment for migraines.

Documented Dosage

 *  Acetaminophen 260mg, Aspirin 500mg, Caffeine 32.5mg (Goody's Extra Strength Headache Powders). For ages 12+, 1 powder every 6 hours (not more than 4 in a 24 hour period). Drink a full glass of water with each dose. [1]
 * Acetaminophen 500mg, Aspirin 500mg, Caffeine 130mg (Excedrin Migraine Coated Caplets; 2 caplets). For ages 12+, 2 caplets with a full glass of water (not more than 2 caplets in a 24 hour period). [2]
