Migraines can occur in migraineurs, with no genetic history of migraine and no prior migraine events, after an injury to the head or neck.[1] The trauma can be minor, even a head injury without loss of consciousness may trigger migraines.[1] "Whiplash" type injuries to the neck may also cause migraines in people with no history of migraines.[1]
